Suspension for Cats

DESCRIPTION:

A suspension of light yellow color. May show stratification upon storage, which disappears after shaking.

COMPOSITION:

Each 1 ml contains active substances:

  • Praziquantel: 5 mg
  • Pyrantel pamoate: 15 mg Additional substances: up to 1 ml

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Pyran C is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic containing praziquantel, a derivative of pyrazine isoquinoline, and pyrantel pamoate, a derivative of tetrahydropyrimidine. The combination of these components exhibits a synergistic effect against adult and larval forms of flat and roundworms. Praziquantel inhibits fumarate reductase synthesis on helminth membranes, leading to paralysis and death. Pyrantel blocks neuromuscular transmission by depolarization, causing paralysis. It acts similarly to acetylcholine and inhibits cholinesterase.

APPLICATION:

For deworming cats, puppies, and kittens in cases of:

  • Cestodiasis: Echinococcosis, Taeniasis, Dipylidiosis, Diphyllobothriasis, Mesocestidosis
  • Distomiasis: Opisthorchiasis
  • Nematodes: Toxocariasis, Toxascaridosis, Trichocephaliasis, Ancylostomiasis, Uncinariasis, Dirofilariasis

DOSAGE:

Administer orally with food or directly to the root of the tongue during morning feeding, at a dose of 1 ml per 1 kg of body weight. Treatment is carried out according to indications, with repeated deworming recommended after 10 days for severe infestations. Prophylactic deworming is conducted quarterly and before each vaccination in therapeutic doses.

Deworming schedule:

  • Kittens: At 2, 4, and 12 weeks, then at 6 months, with two treatments 14 days apart after weaning.
  • Puppies: Administer twice with a 14-day interval after weaning.

Before use, shake the suspension bottle carefully. Starvation diet and laxatives are not necessary.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

void use in animals with hypersensitivity to the drug components, pregnant females in the first half of pregnancy and within 3 weeks after birth, puppies, and kittens less than 2 weeks old, as well as sick or exhausted animals. Do not use with drugs containing piperazine.

PRECAUTIONS:

For pregnant females, administer the drug carefully under veterinary supervision 3 weeks before childbirth. For lactating cats, administer 2-3 weeks after birth.

PACKAGING :

vailable in polymeric bottles of 5 ml or 7 ml, packed in cardboard boxes. Includes a disposable syringe with a capacity of 5 ml.

STORAGE:

Store in a dry, dark place, away from children, at temperatures between 0°C to 25°C. Do not store with food, drinks, or animal feeds.
