DESCRIPTION:

NEWFORM is a light yellow to yellow powder with a mild, specific odor.

COMPOSITION:

Each gram of the drug contains the following active substances:

  • Colistin Sulphate: 500,000 IU
  • Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride: 35 mg
  • Trimethoprim: 90 mg

Excipients: up to 1 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

NEWFORM is a complex formulation with components that work synergistically to provide a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity:

  • Colistin: An antibiotic from the polymyxins group, Colistin exhibits bactericidal action against Gram-negative bacteria (e.g., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp.). It disrupts the cytoplasmic membrane integrity of microorganisms by binding to phospholipids, neutralizing the biological effect of bacterial endotoxins.
  • Oxytetracycline: A bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by interacting with ribosomes and decreasing the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane in susceptible microorganisms. It is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, protozoa, mycoplasma, rickettsia, and chlamydia.
  • Trimethoprim: A chemotherapeutic agent with bactericidal action against both Gram-positive (e.g., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp.) and Gram-negative bacteria (e.g., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp.). It inhibits bacterial reductase, blocking the conversion of dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolic acid, crucial for purine and nucleic acid synthesis.

APPLICATION:

  • Rabbits, Calves, and Lambs (up to six weeks): For the treatment of enteritis and respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug’s components.
  • Poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks): For the treatment of mycoplasmosis, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, and respiratory diseases caused by sensitive microorganisms.

DOSAGE:

For oral administration:

  • Pigs and Poultry (group method): 1 kg of the drug per 1000 liters of drinking water or 1.5-2 kg per ton of feed for 3-5 days.
  • Rabbits: 1-1.5 g of the product per liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.
  • Calves, Lambs (up to six weeks), Pigs (individually): 0.5 g of the product per 10 kg body weight, administered twice daily for 5-7 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

  • Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the drug’s components.
  • Not for use in ruminants with functionally developed proventriculus or laying hens whose eggs are consumed by humans.
  • Avoid use during lactation and the last third of pregnancy.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Meat consumption is permitted 10 days after the last application. Poultry may be consumed 7 days after the last application. Any meat obtained before these periods should be disposed of as per veterinary advice.
