Metronidazole – 110

Oxytetracycline hydrochloride 25

Furazolidon 65

Excipients: up to 1 g.

DESCRIPTION:

Powder with a light yellow to yellow-brown color, odorless.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Metronidazole: Belongs to the 5-nitroimidazole group. It functions by reducing the 5-nitroimidazole group through intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, which then interacts with the DNA of microbial cells to inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, leading to microorganism death. Effective against protozoa (e.g., Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis) and obligate anaerobic bacteria (e.g., Bacteroides spp.), as well as some gram-positive bacteria (e.g., Clostridium spp.).
  • Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride: A bacteriostatic antibiotic that disrupts protein synthesis during its interaction with ribosomes and reduces the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane of susceptible microorganisms. It has a broad spectrum of activity against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms including Streptococcus spp., E. coli, and Salmonella spp.
  • Furazolidone: A synthetic antibacterial and antiprotozoal drug, a derivative of nitrofuran. It blocks the enzyme system of bacteria sensitive to it and is active against Giardia, Trichomonas, Coccidia, E. Coli, and Salmonella spp.

APPLICATION:

  • Dogs, Cats: Treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and prevention of surgical complications caused by microorganisms sensitive to the components of the drug.
  • Fur Animals (Minks, Foxes): Prevention and treatment of coccidiosis and gastrointestinal diseases caused by pathogens susceptible to the drug components.
  • Fancy Pigeons: Prevention and treatment of blackhead, coccidiosis, salmonellosis, and trichomoniasis caused by sensitive microorganisms.

DOSAGE:

  • Dogs, Cats: 0.1-0.2 g per 1 kg body weight, 3 times a day for 7-10 days.
  • Fur Animals (Minks, Foxes): 0.2-0.3 g per 1 kg body weight, 3 times a day for 3-5 days.
  • Calves: Prophylactic dose during weaning is 1.0-1.5 grams for every 10 animals for 2 weeks.
  • Fancy Pigeons: Therapeutic dose is 3 g per 1 kg of feed daily for 7-10 days; prophylactic dose is 1 g per 1 kg of feed daily for 2 weeks.
