Suspension for Intramammary Injection

COMPOSITION :

1 syringe tube (8 g) contains active substances (mg):

Tetracycline hydrochloride – 200;

Neomycin sulphate – 250;

Bacitracin – 2,000 IU;

Prednisolone – 10.

Excipients: – 8 g

DESCRIPTION:

  • Form: Oily suspension
  • Color: Light yellow to yellow
  • Smell: Specific

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Active Ingredients:
    • Tetracycline Hydrochloride: Bacteriostatic against Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella spp.
    • Neomycin Sulfate: Bactericidal against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella spp., Streptococcus pyogenes, and Streptococcus spp.
    • Bacitracin: Bactericidal primarily against gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, and Streptococcus pyogenes.
    • Prednisolone: Corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, desensitizing, anti-exudative, and anti-edematous effects.

APPLICATION:

  • Treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis of bacterial etiology in cattle (cows) during lactation.

DOSAGE:

  • Preparation:
    • Pre-Injection: Wash, milk, and disinfect the affected udder quarter.
    • Heating: Heat the syringe tube to 35-38°C in a water bath and shake well to ensure a homogeneous mixture.
  • Administration:
    • Injection: Inject into the affected udder quarter.
    • Massage: After injection, massage the udder for even distribution.
    • Frequency: Administer 3 times with an interval of 12 hours.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

  • Dry Period: Do not use during the dry period.
  • Hypersensitivity: Avoid use in animals with hypersensitivity to the drug’s active ingredients.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Milk Consumption: Allowed after 8 milkings from the last injection.
  • Meat Consumption: Allowed 14 days after the last injection.
  • Post-Treatment: Milk and meat obtained within the withdrawal periods should be discarded or used for unproductive animals based on veterinary advice.

  • Conditions: Store in a dry, dark place at temperatures between 2°C and 18°C.
