Suspension for Intramammary Administration

DESCRIPTION :

Oily suspension from white to light yellow color with a specific smell.

COMPOSITION :

1 Syringe tube (10g) contains active substance (mg):

Cephalexin monohydrate – 350;

Gentamicin sulfate – 100.

Excipients: alcohol – up to 10 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Mastilact is combined antimicrobial drug, which includes cephalexin monohydrate and gentamicin sulfate, that act on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, such as: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and others.

APPLICATION:

Treatment of cattle (cows), sheep, and goats suffering from acute, subacute, clinical, subclinical, chronic, non-specific forms of infectious mastitis caused by susceptible microorganisms to components of the drug during lactation.

DOSAGE:

Cows are injected by contents of one syringe tube in the share of the affected breast, which is pre-washed, disinfected, and milked. After the injection is carried gentle massage of the affected share of the breast (from top to bottom) for its uniform distribution throughout the tank. Repeated application of the drug is carried out after 12-24 hours.

Sheep and goats are injected by half of the contents of one syringe tube in the affected share of the breast in accordance with the above scheme. The course of treatment is 3-5 days.

Before injection, the tube should be heated to a temperature of (35- 38)°C in a water bath and actively shaken in order to obtain a homogeneous mass.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not apply to animals with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the drug.

PRECAUTIONS:

Possible redness at the injection site. In the case of kidney disease and/or long-term treatment may occur kidney failure.

Use of milk for human nutrition is allowed after 4 days from the last drug application. Received by the deadline milk fed to unproductive animals or utilize (depending on a conclusion of the doctor of veterinary medicine).

PACKAGING :

Syringes intramammary (syringe tubes) 10 g, packed in a polymeric package.

STORAGE:

Dry, dark, inaccessible to children at a temperature from 5°C to 25°C.

Do not store together with food, drinks and animal feeds.
