COMPOSITION:
100 ml of the medicine contains:
Metronidazole 5 g.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Metronidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, possesses both antiprotozoal and bactericidal properties. It is primarily excreted via urine within 48 hours.
APPLICATION:
Suitable for all animal types, metronidazole is employed in the treatment and prevention of dysentery, colibacillosis, ameriosis, balantidiosis, salmonellosis, enteritis, septicemia, and post-surgical complications.
DOSAGE:
Administered intramuscularly (IM), the dosage varies based on the condition:
- For dysentery caused by Treponema spp., administer 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight (5 mg of metronidazole per 1 kg of body weight).
- For dysentery caused by anaerobic organisms and balantidiosis, administer 2 ml per 10 kg of body weight.
- For rabbits and nutria, the dosage is 0.4-0.5 ml per 1 kg of body weight for 2-3 days.
- For birds, administer orally at a dosage of 5-6 ml per 1 liter of water for 10 days.
Administer once daily until symptoms subside, typically requiring 1-2 injections.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Avoid use in cases of hypersensitivity to metronidazole.
WARNING:
Do not administer concurrently with alcohol-containing substances or during the first trimester of pregnancy.
STORAGE:
Store in a dry, dark place at temperatures ranging from 5°C to 25°C.
