COMPOSITION:
1 ml of the drug contains an active substance:
Progesterone – 25 mg.
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY :
The solution of progesterone mimics the biological and therapeutic effects of the natural hormone produced by the corpus luteum. It reduces uterine excitability and promotes proper uterine retraction, creating favorable conditions for fertilization. Additionally, it decreases uterine sensitivity to oxytocin and stimulates the functional activity of the mammary gland.
Upon injection, the drug is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and distributed throughout the organs and tissues of the animals. Metabolism primarily occurs in the liver. Approximately 50-60% of the drug is excreted via the urinary route, while about 10% is eliminated via feces. The solution of progesterone is considered low-risk and exhibits non-irritating action on tissues.
APPLICATION :
The solution of progesterone is used in animals to prevent abortion, treat uterine prolapse, and suppress estrus. It should be warmed to 37°C before administration.
