INDICATIONS
For estrogen supplementation in female livestock.
Indicated to stimulate estrus and ovulation, improve fertilization efficiency, and increase embryo numbers.
Enhances the precision of estrus onset and supports optimal oocyte quality at ovulation.
Also indicated for the prevention and treatment of postpartum reproductive disorders, including metritis, pyometra, and vaginitis.
Stimulates lactation secretion.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
For intramuscular injection.
• Cattle: 5–20 mg (2.5–10 ml) per administration
• Horses: 10–20 mg (5–10 ml) per administration
• Sheep and goats: 1–3 mg (0.5–1.5 ml) per administration
• Dogs: 0.2–0.5 mg (0.1–0.25 ml) per administration
Dosage may be repeated as directed by a veterinarian.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
In dogs, cats, and other small animals, estradiol benzoate may cause hematologic disorders, particularly in young animals or when administered at high doses.
Transient increases in platelet and leukocyte counts may occur initially, followed by decreases in platelet and white blood cell counts.
Severe cases may lead to aplastic anemia.
Prolonged or excessive use may result in cystic endometrial hyperplasia and uterine pyometra.
