APPLICATION:
This product is intended for both preventive and therapeutic treatment of respiratory tract infections in cattle, targeting pathogens like Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Histophilus somni. It’s essential to confirm the presence of the disease in the herd before initiating preventive treatment. Moreover, it effectively addresses acute outbreaks of respiratory disease in pigs caused by strains of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida susceptible to florfenicol.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Administer via subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
Cattle:
- Treatment (IM): 1 ml per 15 kg body weight, given twice at a 48-hour interval.
- Treatment (SC): 2 ml per 15 kg body weight, administered once.
- Prevention (SC): 2 ml per 15 kg body weight, administered once.
Injection should be restricted to the neck, with the dose not exceeding 10 ml per injection site.
Swine:
- 1 ml per 20 kg body weight (IM), given twice at a 48-hour interval.
Injection should be restricted to the neck, with the dose not exceeding 3 ml per injection site.
Note: This product is not intended for use in cattle producing milk for human consumption.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Avoid use in cattle producing milk for human consumption.
- Not suitable for adult bulls or boars intended for breeding purposes.
- Do not administer to animals with a history of allergic reactions to florfenicol.
SIDE EFFECTS:
- In cattle, expect a decrease in food consumption and transient softening of the faeces during treatment, with rapid and complete recovery post-treatment. Intramuscular and subcutaneous administration may lead to inflammatory lesions at the injection site, persisting for up to 14 days.
- In swine, transient diarrhoea and/or peri-anal and rectal erythema/oedema may occur in about 50% of animals, lasting up to one week. Swelling at the injection site may persist for up to 5 days, with inflammatory lesions possible for up to 28 days.
WITHDRAWAL:
For meat:
- Cattle: 30 days (IM route), 44 days (SC route).
- Swine: 18 days.
