Enrofloxacin \u2013 100 mg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enrofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, effectively disrupts bacterial DNA replication by inhibiting the gyrase enzyme, exerting potent bactericidal effects against various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus, along with mycoplasmas and chlamydia. Its rapid absorption, reaching peak blood concentration within 6 hours and sustaining therapeutic levels for 2 days, coupled with partial liver metabolism and excretion through urine and bile, underscores its clinical efficacy and pharmacokinetic profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

APPLICATION:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cattle<\/strong>: Enrofloxacin is instrumental in managing gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to its action, including secondary bacterial infections accompanying viral diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pigs<\/strong>: Enrofloxacin effectively addresses diseases of the alimentary canal and respiratory system resulting from microorganisms susceptible to its action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOSAGE:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For cattle (administered subcutaneously), the optimal dosage of enrofloxacin is 2.5 ml per 100 kg of body weight, equivalent to 2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight, administered once daily. In cases of frequent respiratory infections and Salmonellosis, the dosage can be increased by half. The treatment course typically spans 3 days, extending to 5 days for Salmonellosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For pigs (administered intramuscularly), the recommended dosage is also 2.5 ml per 100 kg of body weight, administered once daily. Similarly, for pigs with frequent respiratory infections and Salmonellosis, the dosage can be increased by half. The standard treatment duration is 3 days, except for Salmonellosis cases where it extends to 5 days. In instances of Mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome, the treatment course lasts for 1-2 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CONTRAINDICATIONS: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Enrofloxacin should not be given to animals with known hypersensitivity to the drug or fluoroquinolones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Avoid using enrofloxacin if resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria are identified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Concurrent administration with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides, and cephalosporins should be avoided due to potential antagonistic effects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Enrofloxacin is contraindicated in animals with central nervous system disorders, kidney diseases, or cartilage growth disorders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Enrofloxacin is not suitable for use in horses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    PRECAUTIONS:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Discontinue product application if microorganisms exhibit resistance to antibiotics. Confirm resistance through biological DX confirmation and susceptibility testing before prescribing the product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If the animal does not show improvement within three days of treatment initiation, replace the product with an alternative drug.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Divide the dose if it exceeds 5 ml for cattle or 2.5 ml for pigs, and administer it into two different body parts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Withdrawal : <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • The withdrawal period for meat consumption is 10 days, and for milk, it is 7 days after the last application of the product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Meat and milk obtained before the withdrawal period must be fed to unproductive animals or utilized, as advised by a veterinarian.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        PACKAGING:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Available in glass vial, 50 and 100 ml.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        STORAGE :<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Store the product in a dry, dark place inaccessible to children, at temperatures ranging from 5\u00b0C to 25\u00b0C.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Keep it separate from food products, beverages, and animal feeds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • After the initial use, the product remains usable for 28 days if stored in its original packaging at temperatures between 5\u00b0C and 25\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
