ceftiofur hydrochloride – 50 mg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ceftiofur hydrochloride, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, exhibits a wide spectrum of bactericidal activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including strains that produce beta-lactamases. It also targets certain anaerobic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pasteurella haemolytica, and Salmonella cholerasuis, among others. Ceftiofur’s mechanism of action involves inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

APPLICATION:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cattle<\/strong>: Ceftiofur is used to treat a range of conditions including respiratory diseases (such as pneumonia and bronchopneumonia), postpartum endometritis, mastitis, necrobacillosis, arthritis, sepsis, and other bacterial infections susceptible to ceftiofur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pigs<\/strong>: Ceftiofur is employed to treat respiratory diseases and other bacterial infections susceptible to ceftiofur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOSAGE:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cattle<\/strong>: administer ceftiofur subcutaneously once a day at a dosage of 1 ml per 50 kg Body Weight Gain (BWG), equivalent to 1 mg of ceftiofur hydrochloride per 1 kg BWG. The treatment duration varies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Respiratory diseases: 3-5 days<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Necrobacillosis: 3 days<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Endometritis: 5 days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Pigs<\/strong> : administer ceftiofur intramuscularly once a day at a dosage of 1 ml per 16 kg BWG, equivalent to 3 mg of ceftiofur hydrochloride per 1 kg BWG, for 3-4 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    CONTRAINDICATIONS:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Hypersensitivity: Avoid in animals with known hypersensitivity to ceftiofur or other beta-lactam antibiotics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Mixing: Do not mix with other drugs in the same syringe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Renal Impairment: Avoid use in animals with impaired renal function.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Resistance: Do not use in cases of resistance to cephalosporins or other beta-lactam antibiotics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Route of Administration: Do not administer intravenously.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      WITHDRAWAL:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The withdrawal periods for ceftiofur are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Meat Consumption: 8 days for cattle and 5 days for pigs after the last application of the drug.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Milk and Eggs Consumption: Not Applicable (N\/A).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Any meat obtained before the withdrawal period deadline must either be fed to unproductive animals or utilized, as determined by a veterinarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        PACKAGING:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Avilable in glass vial, 50, and 100 ml.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        STORAGE :<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Store the product in a dry, dark place inaccessible to children at a temperature ranging from 5\u00b0C to 25\u00b0C. After the first opening, the product remains usable for up to 28 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
