It helps reduce mortality and productivity losses in animals suffering from heat stress due to high ambient temperatures and high relative humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Betaine prevents dehydration by retaining water in the mucosal cells of the gut wall, reducing water loss in feces and improving fecal consistency. This enhances nutrient absorption. Vitamin C alleviates symptoms and health problems associated with heat stress. Heat-stressed hens often have decreased magnesium blood concentrations, necessitating extra magnesium for normal energy metabolism and prevention of weight loss. Heat stress also depletes sodium and potassium levels, disrupting the acid-base balance.
